When going for fingerprinting in Canada, what documents should I bring with me?

To undergo the fingerprinting process, you first need to schedule an appointment for fingerprinting at one of the Visa Application Centers approved by the Canadian government and embassy. Due to the absence of the Canadian embassy in Iran, you must obtain your biometric appointment from one of the available centers in neighboring countries.

When you visit the Visa Application Center for fingerprinting, you should have the following documents with you:

Biometric Instruction Letter (BIL):

  • This letter provides instructions for the biometric (fingerprinting) process.

Submission Letter:

  • A letter confirming the online registration of documents with the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Appointment Letter:

  • A letter confirming the reservation of an appointment for fingerprinting at the visa application centers.

Payment Receipt:

  • If you have paid the Canada fingerprinting fee online, bring the payment receipt with you.

Passport:

  • When going for biometrics, make sure to have the original passport with you.
